Best Live Show Ever? Absolutely.

By Steve Craig

I’ve seen more concerts than I care to count… although one day, I’m going to actually COUNT all the ticket stubs in 2 large crates in my basement!

I gotta say, even though I find that you either love him or hate him…

The best concert performance I’ve ever attended has to be Bruce Springsteen… It was at Bonnaroo in 2009… I was a casual fan, really love a bunch of his songs, but always heard that his shows were “for the REAL fans” and more often than not, he would play lots of obscure stuff… I like to sing along at the top of my drunken lungs to my favorites at concerts…

Bruce was smart enough to know that he would be in front of a sea of Millennials, and taking the opportunity to grab a new, younger audience of potential followers… he slugged out a 4-hour hit-fest!  Granted, I was in the very VERY front, and got a chance to see the expressions on ALL of the E-Streeter’s faces… (including the late Clarence Clemons in one of his final shows)

When you and your band are genuinely having a blast playing your music for people… it shows, and the contagious energy flows and flows and flows.  Four. Tight. Freakin’. Hours… he played everything I could ever remember, got down in the crowd, brought people up on stage and really LOVED on his audience.  As a huge fan of The Boss later told me… “See? It’s a religious experience, ain’t it??”…

Yes… yes it was.

40 Years Ago Today… He launched his Born To Run Tour… and he’s still running… Just as fast!   CHECK THIS OUT
