“Here I Go Again” from his self-titled Whitesnake album!

It went to #1 with the help of MTV, a bitchin’ Jaguar and of course… Tawny Kitaen!

We’ll ignore the fact that she’s a victim of bad plastic surgery…

Once called “The poor-man’s Springsteen” he’s showed up The Boss with a lot of ACTION for the workin’ man…

Since the mid-80’s, he’s spearheaded the Farm-Aid benefit concerts along with Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson & Dave Matthews.

Helping raise money and awareness of the plight of America’s farmers struggling to keep their livelihood AND food on our tables.

He even got Congress to approve the 4 billion dollar “Agricultural Credit Act of 1987” to help farmers save their mortgages!

Bass player with the Garage-Rock Pioneers The Replacements… He also played bass with Guns N’ Roses from 1998 to just last year…

Kevin Cronin is 65 today… Lead singer, rhythm guitarist and piano player for REO Speedwagon!

He started with the band when he was only a teenager in 1971, and has never stopped playing with ’em since!

On This Day in 1962…  The Music World was forever changed by a very simple song.  It was just a bass & acoustic guitar, 2-beat drum line, tambourine, harmonica and two singers harmonizing.

The Beatles’ released their debut single… “Love Me Do”…

Quite different than the coming classics “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and “She Loves You (Yeah Yeah Yeah)”… but this little ditty, written by Paul McCartney when he was only 15, was the harbinger of what was to be a global phenomenon. (See: Beatlemania)

Steve Miller is 73 – Still rockin’ and still callin’ out the Rock Hall of Fame!  (or “Shame”, as he says)

Brian Johnson of AC/DC is 69 today… He says he’s getting amazing treatment for his hearing issues and hopes to get back with AC/DC.. if the band even exists when he’s ready!

Fast Eddie Clarke of Motorhead is 66 –  Guitarist, Founder and only surviving member.

Less than a month after the death of Jimi Hendrix… 27 year old Janis Joplin was found dead of a heroin overdose at the landmark Hotel in Hollywood.
